Finding Nirvana & Peak Performance

Peak Performance, Nirvanna, Yoogozi, Leadership, SuccessOperating at PEAK PERFORMANCE is the dream of anyone seeking a life of significance and success. Athletes, business leaders, entrepreneurs, shamans, and vagabonds all seek this, often illusive, nirvana.

Here’s a simple grid to illustrate what happens when focus and action merge at varying degrees.

1. When we lack focus, and take little action we remain STUCK. Frustration and resentment often set in, and we become unattractive to ourselves and others.

2. When we lack focus, yet move at a frenzied pace, we find our lives filled with CHAOS. We feel like a stress case, and that’s exactly who we attract (other stress cases).

3. When we’re highly focused and take little action, we’re really just DAYDREAMING. It’s a fun place to be from time-to-time, but doesn’t usually pay the bills. Other day dreamers will call us “Visionary,” and we’ll likely attract folks with plenty of capacity but who are afraid of success.

4. When we exercise the discipline of staying highly focused and take action on a task, project or goal, we’re much more likely to find the nirvana of PEAK PERFORMANCE. We tend to become more comfortable and upbeat, we like ourselves more, and find it easier to attract top performers to our team.
